CREEK...BROOMFIELD...NORTHEASTERN DOUGLAS...ADAMS...EASTERN GILPIN...
DENVER...LOGAN...BOULDER AND MORGAN COUNTIES...
AT 330 PM MDT...THERE WERE REPORTS OF NUMEROUS ROADS CLOSED OR
IMPASSABLE DUE TO FLOODING IN SOUTHWEST WELD COUNTY AROUND THE TOWNS
OF FIRESTONE AND FREDERICK.
THE RAINFALL HAS WEAKENED IN INTENSITY THIS AFTERNOON AND BECOME
MORE SHOWERY IN NATURE. HOWEVER...RAINFALL MOVING IN FROM THE SOUTH
LATE THIS AFTERNOON COULD STILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.
